My birthday Prayer

Dear sweet Baby Jesus, if my birthday present is a Mets win, that would be cool. How about a lengthy career for Ike Davis? That Jose Reyes gets his speed back. That David Wright would just learn to stay away from those outside sliders. That Jeff Francouer would learn to STOP SWINGING AT EVERY PITCH. That Jason Bay would at some point, put the ball in play and it would drop for a hit.That Luis Castillo would hit like a man instead of slapping the ball like a pansy.  That any pitcher other than Johan can go past the 6th inning with some regularity. That our manager magically transforms to Bobby Valentine and our GM can be Billy Beane. That Oliver Perez wouldn’t be so crazy. That Jenrry Mejia gets sent to the minors so he can be made into a starter that can be an ace for a long time. That Beltran comes back sooner rather than later. That our bullpen won’t be worn out by June. That there are a few more really good prospects we dont know about in the system that will break out this year and for years to come. That the Mets win a world Series at some point in my lifetime.

Oh and that Lebron comes to New York. The Giants and Jets meet in a Super Bowl so I can make one of those corny half Jet/half Giant jerseys. But most importantly. Thank you for all these awesome people writing on my facebook wall, sending me texts, emails, messages and calling on the phone. You’re too good.
