As the Cowboys are putting the finishing touches on a 2-0 Saturday of picks, its time to completely ruin the good feeling and make things all even.
Ravens (+ 3) over Pats- I weighed this all night. The Ravens are no longer the Ravens and despite the loss of Wes Welker, the Pats are no longer the Pats. But these two organizations have remained stellar teams thanks to awesome organizations that continue to tinker with the team and change the identity of the two. The Ravens once known for their suffocating defense and Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, now are known because of an up and coming offense spearheaded by Joe Flacco and Ray Rice. The Pats meanwhile was known for an offense spearheaded by Tom Brady and a bunch of nobody receivers. Now, its a high flying offense with Welker and Moss. You plug in and take out. What to make of this game? The Ravens are very much a clear favorite thanks to Welker’s injury. Does this mean Brady and Co. roll over? Not in the slightest, but do the Ravens have the weapons adv on offense now? Yes. Look for the Ravens to win and give the Pats their first L of the season in Foxboro.
GB Packers (PK) over Cards- I have always felt as though the Steelers stole the Super Bowl from the Cards. That will not guilt me into picking the Cards. The pack are just playing too well for me not to pick them. The Cards meanwhile have too many injuries. My heart tells me pick the Cards but when the reason becomes solely to atone for last season’s unfortunate loss, then I have to say the Pack.
